Mirrx Therapeutics hold pending patent applications for:

• Antisense compounds directed at microRNA binding sites in mRNA (Blockmirs)
• methods of blocking specific microRNA:mRNA interactions
• methods of microRNA target identification using Blockmirs
• methods of microRNA target validation using Blockmirs

We believe that our fundamental patents will be key elements in the discovery and development of antisense based compounds that act by blocking specific microRNA:mRNA interactions. We are continually expanding our patent portfolio with specific patent applications to create further (layers of) protection for our technology and products.

Importantly, the blocker technology developed by Mirrx is not covered by fundamental microRNA patent applications, which cover microRNA per se and antisense compounds directed to microRNA.

These approaches do not provide gene specific modulation of microRNA regulatory pathways, since each microRNA typically targets many mRNAs and direct modulation of a microRNA will affect expression of all targets of the given microRNA. This is contrary to Blockmirs technology which enables modulation of microRNA regulation of one specific mRNA.

Thus, Mirrx has freedom to operate with respect to commercializing the Blockmir technology and Mirrx IP controls gene specific modulation of microRNA regulatory pathways.
